This watch was a gift from the Davey O'Brien Board of Trustees to Mr. Ringler. Mr. Ringler was the founder and chairman of the board of the Davey O'Brien Educational and Charitable Trust from its beginning in 1977 to 2012 when he passed away. O'Brien's long time friend and business partner, Charles Ringler, believed that accomplishments and commitment of one of Fort Worth's finest sports hero deserved to be honored.
The purpose of the Davey O’Brien Foundation is to recognize outstanding student-athletes for their achievements both on and off the field through the Foundation’s various awards programs. Since 1977, the Foundation has given away more than $1 million in scholarships and university grants to help high school and college athletes.
