The watch world is all eagerly awaiting its Christmas Morning equivalent – Baselworld starts tomorrow! For those of you who don’t know, Baselworld is the most prestigious watch and jewelry conference in the world, held every year in Basel, Switzerland. Baselworld describes themselves as “The most important marketplace and trendsetting show for the world’s watch and jewelry industry … The only show that regroups all the key players from watchmakers to jewelers, from diamonds, pearls and gemstones dealers through to machines and supply industry.” The biggest players in watches and jewelry converge for this seven-day event where new models and pieces are unveiled for the world to see!

Many of these new designs are shrouded in secrecy and their reveal is highly anticipated for collectors and dealers alike. Rolex, Omega, Hublot, Patek Phillippe, Panerai, Breitling, Cartier, Corum, Breguet, Blancpain, Vacheron Constantin, and Chopard are just a few of the many global and international brands that will be showcasing at the fair.

Not an industry insider or watch maker? That’s okay, Baselworld is open to the public!

As always, rumors have been running wild on watch forums and blogs about what will be released during the event. We hope to see many of the same trends from this year’s other watch fairs, like advanced complications, women’s watches and ultra luxurious haute horlogerie pieces resonate with the brands exhibiting at Baselworld.  Baselworld is often the favorite platform for the big reveal of anniversary edition timepieces, and this year Rolex, Cartier and Omega are all possible candidates for a release in 2017! We are most excited about the possibility of anniversary editions being unveiled for the Rolex SeaDweller celebrating 50 years and the Cartier Tank celebrating 100 years!
