The most expensive Rolex wristwatch ever sold at auction for $1.2 million at Christie’s.

Geneva artist, Marguerite Koch, designed this breathtaking nautical-themed 1949 Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch. This piece has vibrant colors, star markers, and beautifully exhibits a developed patina. It features a cloisonné enamel dial depicting a whale and frigate sailing through stormy seas.

The watch was estimated to sell between CHF500, 000 – CHF1,000,000! Bidders pushed the final sale price to $1,220,632. Making it the most expensive Rolex wristwatch ever sold at auction!
