Patek Philippe – The Rolls Royce of Luxury Watches

Patek Philippe Watches.

The Rolls Royce of luxury watches, Patek Philippe has mastered every aspect of fine watchmaking. Their timepieces are coveted by watch collectors for their rich heritage, quality craftsmanship and fine attention to detail.

Patek Philippe – A Rich Heritage

The origins of Patek Philippe date back to 1839 when Genevan watchmaker Antoni Patek began making pocket watches.

It wasn’t until he partnered with French watchmaker Adrien Philippe in 1851 that Patek Philippe & Co. was born. They went on to create the first wristwatch in 1868, followed by the Minute Repeater, Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, Nautilus, Calatrava, and Twenty-4 to name a few.

This circa 1883 Patek Philippe Minute Repeater is one of their early manual-winding pocket watches. A minute repeater operates independently from the world time and chimes only the home time.

Set in 18K yellow gold, it features a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and sub-seconds at the 6 o’clock position. The case and dial are signed and numbered with movement No. 65667 and case No. 202015.

While Patek Phillipe & Co. was acquired by the Stern family in 1932, they continue to maintain their commitment to the rich history, values, and traditional art of Swiss watchmaking. Today, Patek Philippe produces about 40,000 watches annually, with some commanding prices over a million dollars.
