Ulysse Nardin
Founded in 1846, the Ulysse Nardin company and were then best known for producing marine chronometers for the navies of more than 50 countries. In 1862, Nardin received the highest possible honor at the London International Exhibition, for complicated watches and pocket chronometers. Establishing the brand further by 1915, the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., awarded Ulysse Nardin first place among 60 marine chronometers entered. Further adding to its reputation as a maker of highly precise, finely made timepieces, by 1975 Ulysse Nardin had obtained: 4,324 certificates of performance for mechanical marine chronometers, out of a total of 4,504 awarded.
