Extremely Rare And Collectable 18K Yellow Gold Patek Philippe 24 Jewel Half Quarter Hour Repeater Pocket Watch Circa 1867,The half-quarter repeater can sound the time to half a quarter hour, or 7 1⁄2 minutes. It strikes hours and then quarter hours, like the quarter repeater, then it uses a single tone in order to signal if more than half of the current quarter hour has passed. 18k Yellow Gold case; case back inscribed "Patek Philippe & Co. A Geneve. A.H. Rodanet 36 Rue Vivienne Paris" ( 49 mm ). White enamel dial with raised Roman numerals. Pre-owned with Patek box with the original 27027 serial sticker still attached. Just got back from a full service. No Patek Philippe repeater collection is complete without one and these are the rarest of all.
Antoine-Henri Rodanet was established at 36 rue Vivienne in 1870 and registered his trademark ‘Horlogerie de Paris’ in 1890. The firm participated in the Paris Universal Exhibitions of 1855 and 1867. In 1855, J. H. Rodanet showcased several ‘chronometers and horological tools’ and was awarded a First Class Medal. Antoine-Henri exhibited some ‘chronometers and watches in 1867. He died in 1907.
